World Game’s Gold Medalist Diana Flores and Under Armour Strengthen Flag Football in Mexico

Following the success of its inaugural edition, Under Armourand Diana Flores–quarterback of the Mexican National Team, world champion and NFL global ambassador–made history once again with the return of the UA Next Camp with Diana Flores, an exclusive event designed to empower young female athletes in Mexico and develop their talent both on and off the field. In this second edition, held at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Santa Fe Campus, Flores led the event as a mentor and leading athlete in the country.

The camp brought together more than 130 young flag football prospects, ages 15 to 19, for an intensive training program designed to elevate their skills on the field while also fostering personal growth beyond it.

Under Flores’ guidance and the support of a team of professional coaches from UA Next and the NFL, the athletes honed key flag football techniques, participated in hands-on drills, and took part in game simulations that prepared them for real-life competition scenarios.

Throughout the program, the participants trained in an environment that mirrored the intensity and pace of professional competitions. They also received personalized attention from a world-class coaching team, including Jason Tudryn, Lead Coach of the National UA Next Camp; Garrett Gray, coach at Mission Viejo High School; Thomas “Pepper” Johnson, former player and coach for the New York Giants and New England Patriots; two-time Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith; NFL global flag football ambassador Phoebe Schecter; and assistant coaches Mickey Grace and Kenny McClendon from the University of Connecticut.

This expert mentorship enabled the participants to focus on key areas of development, from individual technique to strategic decision-making as a team—resulting in notable improvements in their performance and confidence on the field.

Beyond physical training, the camp strongly emphasized the athletes’ overall well-being, underscoring the importance of physical and mental health, resilience, fair play, and the value of teamwork. These pillars are essential for those aspiring to compete at the Olympic Games and the highest levels in the sport overall.

The young athletes also had access to the latest product innovations from Under Armour, allowing them to experience firsthand the impact of high-performance gear under demanding conditions.

In addition to enhancing their technical preparation, the experience fostered holistic development by cultivating a competitive mindset, encouraging personal growth, and reinforcing essential values such as leadership, discipline, and female empowerment—both on and off the field.

As part of the closing ceremony, a group of outstanding players was recognized as MVPs (Most Valuable Players) of the camp. These athletes were selected not only for their performance on the field, but also for their attitude, commitment, leadership, and team spirit. According to Flores, these young women represent the heart of the sport—proof that effort, passion, and discipline can open doors once thought closed. Their growth, ability to inspire, and positive influence as role models to others reflect the true impact of the camp.
