Where Dawgs Are Made: Kelsey Plum Hosts Third Annual Dawg Class

Kelsey Plum and Under Armour unite elite athletes for a weekend of skills, leadership, and empowerment in Phoenix

Under Armour and 2x WNBA Champion Kelsey Plum wrapped another electric edition of Dawg Class, a three-day elite training and mentorship experience for the best female collegiate basketball guards, held April 18–20 in Phoenix.

Dawg Class, which continues to evolve as a cornerstone of Under Armour’s UA Next platform, brought together a handpicked roster of top-tier talent from across the country, including three 2025 WNBA Draft selections. Designed to empower, inspire and challenge the next generation of top female hoopers, the event was led by Plum and a lineup of elite coaches, offering a holistic training experience that fused on-court drills, competitive scrimmages, leadership sessions and off-court growth opportunities.

“Dawg Class is about more than basketball."

"It’s about providing these young women with the support and guidance to realize their potential. They all have the elite talent but what we want to do here at Dawg Class is give them the tools to elevate their game and build a mentality that will support them through any challenge—on or off the court.”

The 2025 Dawg Class roster included:

  • Georgia Amoore, University of Kentucky
  • KK Arnold, University of Connecticut
  • Mikayla Blakes, Vanderbilt University
  • Zoe Brooks, North Carolina State University
  • Jaloni Cambridge, The Ohio State University
  • Kayleigh Heckel, formerly University of Southern California (transfer portal)
  • Ashlon Jackson, Duke University
  • Gianna Kneepkens, University of Utah (transfer portal)
  • Harmoni Turner, Harvard University

Over the weekend, athletes took part in a dynamic lineup of activities designed to elevate both their physical and mental game. The schedule included advanced skills training and scrimmaging, along with strength and performance sessions led by Kelsey’s team of experts. Participants also engaged in intimate fireside chats that focused on mental toughness, identity and self-advocacy. The weekend also featured a powerful leadership panel featuring Kelsey, representatives from Under Armour, WME, and ESPN, where they discussed essential life skills and shared insights on navigating brand partnerships, working with the media, and preparing for the transition from collegiate athletics to the professional stage.

As someone who’s come through Dawg Class before, I know firsthand how special this environment is. Every year, the energy, the sisterhood, and the standard just keep rising. It’s a space where we can truly grow as athletes and as people and I’m grateful to Kelsey and Under Armour for creating this opportunity for us.”

The athletes also participated in focus groups led by Under Armour product experts and had a little bit of fun off court with the return of “puppy pilates”. Zoe Brooks was so smitten with them that she adopted one. Google Pixel, an existing partner of Kelsey’s, helped support this year’s camp by educating the athletes on how technology can be a resource in their journey and providing them with the opportunity to check out their latest products.

“I am thrilled that I was able to be a part of this year’s Dawg Class. Learning from Kelsey and these experts firsthand about how to improve as a player was amazing, and it makes me excited to keep working on my game and my mindset this offseason.”

Two-time Dawg Class participant and UConn guard KK Arnold was named Top Dawg of this year’s camp, an award that goes to the player who most exemplifies that dawg mentality and brings the most energy throughout the weekend. Past Top Dawgs include Saniya Rivers (2024), who was recently drafted 8th overall by the Connecticut Sun, and Georgia Amoore (2023), who was selected 6th overall by the Washington Mystics.

As Under Armour continues to deepen its commitment to women’s sports, Dawg Class exemplifies the brand’s belief that developing athletes starts with developing the whole person. This year’s event once again raised the bar, equipping young women with the mindset and tools to own their future.
