Under Armour Signs Nika Mühl

WNBA point guard joins Under Armour Basketball with a multi-year deal

If there’s one thing you need to know about Croatian basketball player Nika Mühl, it’s that she knows how to make a statement. Whether through her bold fashion choices in the tunnel or with her exceptional playmaking on the court, Nika always makes her presence known, exuding an easy confidence and fierce competitiveness that has made her a favorite among basketball fans everywhere. At just twenty-three, she has already carved her own unique path, proving herself to be a true trendsetter and a linchpin in the rising popularity of women’s basketball. Under Armour is thrilled to officially welcome Nika to its roster of basketball athletes and partner with her as she continues to redefine what it means to be an elite athlete with her distinct play, personality and style.

Nika Mühl has signed a multi-year partnership with Under Armour Basketball, which will include serving as an ambassador for the brand on and off the court and competing in Under Armour and Curry Brand basketball sneakers this upcoming WNBA season. Currently recovering from an ACL tear in her left knee, Nika made her WNBA debut last year with the Seattle Storm, who drafted her 14th overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft after a stellar collegiate career at UConn. Before officially joining the team for training camp, Nika had the opportunity to attend Kelsey Plum’s Dawg Class, a camp created together by Kelsey and Under Armour for elite female college guards looking to make it to the professional level. It was there that Nika was first introduced to the brand, exposed to the quality of Under Armour’s products and experienced the community that supports Under Armour Basketball athletes like Kelsey Plum.

“The team behind the Under Armor brand is incredible, they're so innovative, creative, and just relentless at what they do, and I align with that so much."

"Having grown up watching their athletes, I have seen how they really invest in them, letting them have their own vision but also helping them to grow and support their work. It's so much more than just the logo, it’s an entire community that shares the same values I do. I wanted to be a part of it, and thankfully, I am now and I am very excited to collaborate with them on new ideas and use with our collective platforms to have an impact beyond basketball.”

During her time at UConn, Nika became the school’s all-time career assist leader with 686 assists and also holds the single season assist record with 284 in 2023, showcasing her talent at the point guard position with superior court vision and awareness. She also garnered accolades for her defensive mindset and intensity, winning the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2023 and 2024. Her lockdown defense was so renowned that it earned her the nickname “The Secretary of Defense”, for her ability to shut down some of the top scorers in college basketball. Nika played a key role in UConn's Final Four run in 2024, with her combination of offensive playmaking, defensive prowess and leadership on the court making her a standout in collegiate women’s basketball.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Nika Mühl to the Under Armour family,”

“Her incredible talent, dynamic personality and distinctive style make her the perfect addition to our roster. Nika’s partnership with Under Armour underscores our continued commitment to investing in women’s basketball and supporting athletes who are not only reshaping the game but also inspiring the next generation. We’re excited to see how she’ll continue to elevate the sport and break new ground with Under Armour by her side.”

A playmaker on the court, Nika’s impact extends far beyond the hardwood as a fashion icon and role model for the next generation. Her daring tunnel fits have earned her recognition from both basketball fans and fashion insiders, and she was named GQ’s Most Stylish WNBA Player in October 2024. The Instagram account @LeagueFits, known for celebrating the best outfits from NBA and WNBA players, awarded her their Rookie of the Year Award and named her to their LeagueFits First Team, again cementing her status as one of the most stylish players in the WNBA.

“My style is all about confidence,”

"I feel like I'm still exploring and trying new things. I don't like to stick to one look and at the end of the day, we are multidimensional people who change and grow. A year from now, I might not like something I wore yesterday (unless it’s Under Armour of course), but I feel like that’s just that constant evolution of fashion and my expression of self. I'm down to take risks, down to try something new and stay confident.”
